Remembering Stephen. 3/6/2007
As it is exactly 20 years since Stephen died, Rachel suggested I scan some photos of him on my blog. So here they are: the last full family photo; in Uncle Paul's milk truck (driving U Paul's milk truck?); and 2 not long before he died, one at Cameron's, and a lovely one with Dad, smiling, a week or so before he died.

God bless the little fella.
I miss him and love him.
Thanks Mum; such a precious little boy, I can only now understand how it must have been for you to lose him as a parent.
Yes. Your little boys, though very much their own little people, do remind me of him, and the vigour and enthusiasm of little boys.
Hi Gretta,
I saw the post Sam made on his and Becca's blog and made a comment of how the childhood memories of this time come flooding back. I remember Stephen (in my own childhood special way - a joyous, cheeky and fun kid) even though I too was little when Stephen died. Thank you for sharing the beautiful pics. Sending you hugs and love xox
Lovely to have your memories of Stephen too, Suse. Thankyou.
thanks Mama. I just showed these pics of our precious boy to my friend Lisa, whose littlest, Sophie, has a heart condition, and we both are teary eyed. I wish Stephen didn't feel so far away, so long ago. I wish he was alive with us. Like Tom, I understand your sorrow in a new way now I'm a mother.
I am reading The Poisonwood Bible, by Barbara Kingsolver, an excellent book, which I wanted to recommend to you. have you read her?
Yes, I've read Poisonwood Bible. Am not so sure about it, but it's well written.
Hi Gretta. Just dropped in on your blog and saw that there were many more photos since last I was here.
They are lovely photos of Stephen. Precious memories.

Such lovely photos Gretta. Now I have three boys of my own (and a girl) I have a better idea of how terrible and unbearable it must have been to lose your littlest one. I remember Megan once said Stephen had the nickname 'Nicholas' (knickerless) from when he was potty-training.
eddie will be knickerless soon at lothlorien....

Actually it extended beyond potty-training - he just loved being half naked. Eddie too? Nice to hear from you Kate. I loved your family when we met at Christmas.
